Nuns to draw pizza raffle for a cause winning tickets in Manila on July 1

The Adorers of the Blood of Christ Sisters will draw the Pizza Raffle for a Cause winning tickets at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Tandang Sora, Quezon City on July 1.
Sr. Flor Montojo Manga, mission coordinator of the congregation in the Philippines, said 25 raffle tickets will be drawn. Each winning ticket will receive a box of pizza. The tickets cost P50 apiece.
The proceeds of the raffle will be used to sustain the ministries of the congregation in the country, she said.
The congregation’s ministries in the Philippines include health assistance for the economically challenged, spiritual formation of children, education of the young, and assistance for indigenous people.
The sisters have a mission clinic in Culiat, Quezon City, Manga said. The clinic is open to patients for consultations and checkups on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The congregation also sustains its Tutok-Gamutan, a health program for tuberculosis patients.
They also have 25 students in Marikina under the congregation’s socio-educational center.
Manga said these students are enrolled in state-owned schools. Some of them passed in private schools.
The congregation offers these students assistance, like school supplies, rice, and eggs monthly, she added. The students also undergo formation.
The sisters are also engaged in teaching catechesis to the young.
The congregation, which has a central house in Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, has a presence in Maasin, Leyte in central Philippines. The sisters in Leyte are involved in campus ministry, including working in a guidance office.
The raffle draw will coincide with the Jubilee Celebration of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus in Rome which will be presided by Philippine Cardinal Antonio Tagle.
The raffle tickets will be drawn after a Eucharistic celebration on the Solemnity of the Precious Blood of Jesus that will be presided over by Fr. Lukas Hadi Siswo Sasmito, SCJ.
