Pakistan Bishops Visit Saint Paul Basilica During Ad Limina Pilgrimage
Members of the Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference continued their historic Ad Limina visit in Rome on May 13 with a pilgrimage to the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, one of the four major papal basilicas and the burial place of Saint Paul the Apostle.
The bishops celebrated the Holy Eucharist at the basilica, with Archbishop Khalid Rehmat presiding. In his homily, the archbishop reflected on the missionary zeal, steadfast faith, and sacrificial witness of Saint Paul.
Describing the apostle as a missionary who became “all things to all people,” Archbishop Rehmat said Saint Paul’s life and witness continue to inspire many young people to respond generously to the call to missionary service.
Reflecting on the life and teachings of Saint Paul, the bishops prayed for the grace to remain faithful shepherds of the Church in Pakistan, strengthen the Christian community, and proclaim the message of Christ to all people. They also venerated the tomb of Saint Paul and offered special prayers there.
As part of their official Ad Limina program, the bishops later visited the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, along with the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Dicastery for Evangelization.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
