Sri Lankan Church Holds Ecumenical Youth Program

An Ecumenical Youth Program held at Arunodaya Retreat Centre, Athurugiriya, Sri Lanka, on June 20–21, 2025, brought together more than 70 Christian youth from across the island nation. The event aimed to foster unity, faith, and leadership under the theme “Empowered in Christ, United to Shine in Joy and Faith.”
Jointly organized by Caritas Sri Lanka, the National Christian Council, and the National Commission on Interreligious and Ecumenism, and generously supported by Caritas Norge, the program offered youth from multiple dioceses a meaningful space for dialogue, spiritual growth, and collaboration.
Through engaging sessions, music, games, and cultural performances, the two-day retreat encouraged deep reflection, interdenominational unity, and faith-based action, empowering youth to become joyful witnesses and peacemakers in Christ.
The event concluded with renewed hearts, lasting friendships, and a shared commitment to Christian unity in diversity.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
