Child Labour is child abuse, says an Indian-based center for human rights, Montfort Social Institute (MSI).

“There is no reason, there is no excuse. Child Labour is child abuse!  Every year June 12th is observed as World Day Against Child Labour to bring forth attention to the evil practices of Child Labour across the world,” said MSI in a message.

On June 12, Montfort Social Institute along with other rights-based organizations commemorated the occasion with the Department of Labour, Hyderabad expressing strong support against practicing child labour.

This year the celebrations are focused on ‘Universal Social Protection’ aiming for strengthening social protection systems to save kids from child labour.

Grukhakarmikula Union Telangana State (GUTS) and Hyderabad City Children’s Parliament actively participated expressing support and solidarity for eliminating child labour practices.

Ms. Jayalaksmi, former Prime Minister of child parliament and current mentor of the City Parliament addressed the various organizations about the importance of ensuring children's rights and that every individual must support the cause.
