Bishop Olivier Schmitthauesler, apostolic vicar of Phnom Penh, led that distribution of food and relief goods to a community affected by the pandemic in the province of Takeo on April 6, 2021.
During his visit, the prelate reminded the families to follow health protocols and to keep clean their community clean.
Mony Rattana Tae, director of the Agriculture Office of the Development Department of the Ministry of National Defense, expressed his appreciation for the help of the Church in poor areas.
“This is a way to inspire [poor families] during their quarantine and help them not to be afraid and have hope.
The local Church was able to donate money, rice, meat, noodles, fruits, even cookies, to the families.
Bishop Olivier also distributed face masks, alcohol, and cleaning materials.
As of April 6, Cambodia has recorded 2,824 cases with at least 22 deaths. - RVA News
