Myanmar Youth awarded by Ignatius Center in Poland for outstanding drawing

Bosco Khant Lu Thit was awarded by St. Ignatius Center in Poland for his outstanding drawing.

St. Ignatius Center in Poland chose three outstanding persons out of 22 children for their paintings.  

Khant Lu Thit was chosen together with a Youth from St Mary’s Cathedral Parish, Yangon and a youth from Epiphany Parish, Yangon, but the other two were awarded earlier on July 16, 2022.

Khant Lu Thit, the remaining awardee, was awarded on January 22 in St Peter and St Paul Parish, where he lives, after Sunday Morning Mass with the presence of the Mass attendants.

Yangon Archdiocese Missionary Childhood Association and Jesuit Congregation jointly organized a drawing competition on June 18, 2022, at St Mary’s Cathedral in Yangon, Myanmar.

168 Children from 13 Parishes in Yang on Archdiocese participated in the drawing competition.

The event coincided with the 500th Anniversary of the Conversion of St Ignatius.

The drawing competition of the Children had to be on the conversion and life of St Ignatius.

Children were divided into five groups: Early years up to 6 years old, 7 to 8 years old, 9 to 10 years old, 11 to 13 years old and 14 to 15 years old.

Out of 168 drawings, 22 of them were chosen for prizes.  

Yangon Archdiocesan Family Commission already awarded the awardees of the drawing contests in St Mary’s Cathedral, Yangon, on July 16, 2022.

The drawing contest organizers sent the 22 selected paintings to St. Ignatius Center in Poland from which St. Ignatius Center in Poland chose three paintings for award.

 “I am very happy to be awarded for my drawing. I will keep on improving my drawing skills. I thank all those who brought me up to be a good person with the necessary knowledge and skills,” said Khant Lu Thit, the drawing contest winner.

The diocesan director for the Pontifical Mission Society, Father James Kyaw Lin Tun, commented that they are proud of the children who participated in drawing contests at the international level.

The priest thanked all “who contributed in bringing up our children in every way,” and encouraged all, “Love your children. Give them faith inheritance and be the light and model for the children.”

They organize essay Writing, Poem Composing and Drawing Contests on Parents’ Day, on the feast of Joachim and Ann on July 26 every year.

But the event in the year 2022 coincided with the 500th anniversary of the conversion of St. Ignatius, and the competition was about the life of St. Ignatius. - By Hubert Saw
