Called to imbibe the spirit of St. Jerome

Thursday, 26th Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Nehemiah 8:1-12 & Luke 10: 1 – 12

Reflection Date: September 30, 2021

The mission that Jesus inaugurated continues even today. It was a mission of preaching, healing and spreading of the kingdom of God to everyone. It is even now, a mission that must consist of both word and action for us. The word that is spoken must be a word that enhances and builds up. The action that is performed must be an action that heals and makes whole.

In the Gospel, Jesus urges each of us to look at the signs of the times, i.e., the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. We are urged to pray that we have many laborers to work in the field.

The Gospel brings to our attention how Jesus sent His twelve apostles to the lost sheep of Israel. Well, in today's context, each of us needs to be vigilant; Jesus sends each of us to make His Word and message known to others. We are sent on a mission to continue the good work that Jesus began long ago.

Let us become true messengers of Jesus to others.

Let us truly become part of the great redemptive work of God for the salvation of humankind.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
