God Will Make A Way
Reflection Date: May 16, 2026 | Saturday of the Sixth Week of Easter
Daily Readings: Acts 16:1-10; John 16:23-28
Children of God:
One of the countries that really fascinated is Nepal.
I have always been fascinated by the history of Catholicism in this place where Christians are a small minority.
Catholic religious orders brought Christianity to Nepal twice in history.
In 1703, Capuchin friars from northern Italy were assigned by the Vatican’s Propaganda Fide to plant the faith in Tibet.
Six missionaries set out on this difficult journey, but only two managed to arrive.
They began their mission with courage, serving quietly and faithfully.
However, about 66 years later, they were expelled when the unified Kingdom of Nepal emerged.
For a long time, the Christian presence disappeared from the land.
Fast-forward almost 200 years, and in 1951, Jesuit missionaries teaching in Patna, India, were invited by the king to come to Kathmandu.
They began by serving through education and social work, gradually rebuilding the Christian presence.
Today, Catholicism in Nepal remains small but vibrant, witnessing to faith through service, education, and quiet perseverance.
In the gospel of John, Jesus spoke about asking the Father in his name and assured his disciples of the Father’s love.
What are our inspirations for today?
First, ask and you will receive.
Jesus invited his disciples to approach the Father with confidence.
Even when they did not fully understand what lay ahead, they were called to trust in God’s care and providence.
In our lives, we often want clear answers and quick results.
When things do not go as expected, we can become discouraged.
Yet Jesus reminded us to keep trusting and asking.
Ask and you will receive
Second, God’s love remains constant.
Jesus said, “For the Father himself loves you.”
He reassured his disciples that they were not alone.
God’s love was the foundation of their mission and their strength in times of difficulty.
In our daily journey, we also experience setbacks and delays.
There are moments when we feel like giving up.
Yet the love of God remains constant, encouraging us to continue.
When we hold on to this love, we find the strength to persevere.
God’s love remains constant
As we reflect, we ask ourselves: Do I trust God even when I do not understand what is happening in my life?
Do I continue in faith despite setbacks and delays? Do I rely on God’s constant love as the source of my strength?
Children of God:
Jesus assured his disciples that the Father loves them and listens to their prayers.
This promise remains true for us today.
We are called to persevere even when results are not immediate.
Our journey may include setbacks, but it also holds new beginnings.
May we continue with trust and hope in God’s plan.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
