Today we celebrate Saint Mary Magdalene, known since the early days of the Church as the apostle to the apostles. An apostle is one who is sent. Mary was sent by the Lord himself to share the good news of the Resurrection with his apostles. She was the first witness to the Resurrection and the first evangelizer. She is a model for each of us.

What can we learn from Mary Magdalene? First, she followed Jesus closely during his ministry, listening to his teaching and learning from him. We too can follow Jesus and learn from his Word and teaching. Mary’s life was transformed by her encounters with Christ, both during his public ministry and after his Resurrection. We too can encounter Christ in his sacraments and in our brothers and sisters. Finally, knowing Christ’s rising and the salvation it brings, Mary gave witness to him to everyone she met, faithfully proclaiming his good news. In the same way, aware of all good things God has done for us, we too can witness to Christ to all we meet.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
