Without love, only a group of people rather than a community

October 7, Friday of the 27th Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Galatians 3:7-14 Gospel: Luke 11:15-26

“Every nation divided by civil war is on the road to ruin and will fall. If Satan is divided, his empire is coming to an end.”

In the Family also, if there is no unity, it will be broken easily. If Satan is itself disunited, how can his country stand? If we are more than two people, we called it “a group of people.” It can be a group of people without forgiveness, love, and unity. If a group of people has understanding, patience, love, forgiveness, and unity, we call it a community. If patience, understanding, forgiveness, and love are missing, we cannot call them a community and just simply call it a group of people or a crowd. This group of people cannot last long because they do not have love. Families or communities that do not have love will not last long. It will collapse easily.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus exorcises the devils and the people accused Him that he drove them out with the help of Beelzebul, the head of the devils. Jesus replied to them, “If Satan is dispersed how can his country can stand?”

Thus, we have to maintain love within our families or community so that our families or communities might not collapse easily.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
