The Divine Mercy Nursing Institute joined healthcare communities across Bangladesh to celebrate International Nurses Day with a vibrant and reflective program held in Mathbari, Gazipur, on May 12.
The event paid tribute to nurses’ enduring commitment and emphasized their pivotal role in strengthening healthcare and the economy.
This year’s theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future: Nurses’ Care Strengthens the Economy,” set the tone for a day filled with gratitude, recognition, and renewed purpose.
Organized by the Divine Mercy Nursing Institute—a key institution under The Christian Cooperative Credit Union Ltd., popularly known as Dhaka Credit—the celebration featured discussions, interfaith prayers, a ceremonial cake cutting, and a cultural showcase led by nursing students.
The occasion also honored the legacy of Florence Nightingale, born on May 12, 1820, whose pioneering work laid the foundation for modern nursing.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
