In the final message bishops stated that “the Church in India has substantially contributed to nation-building, especially through her engagement in the fields of education, healthcare and social uplift.”
“We, the CCBI Bishops, must not forget our task of being a headlight called to lead the Indian society to higher levels of justice, equality, inclusivity, solidarity and unity, based on the Gospel's values,” Archbishop Girelli.
The Document “For a Synodal Church. Working Document for the Continental Stage” was released by Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal, during the inauguration of the 33rd Plenary Assembly of the CCBI, at St. John’s National Institute of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
Inaugurating the 33rd Plenary Assembly of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) of the Latin Church, in Bangalore on Friday 11 November 2022, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, the Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal, encouraged the Bishops to take concrete steps to foster a culture of peace and said, “All Christians must be committed to dialogue with others so that moral values are protected and God is praised in all creation.”
