The CCBI Centre in Bangalore hosted the solemn installation of Father Dr. Patrick Mathias, SDB, as the new Secretary of the CCBI Bible Commission, and Sr. Margarita Dias, SCB, as the new Associate Director for Communio (Training and Programmes).

The ceremony also served as a heartfelt farewell to Father Yesu Karunanidhi and Fr. Baptist Pais, SVD, honoring their years of dedicated service.

The installation was presided over by Bishop Antonysamy Peter Abir, Bishop of Sultanpet and Chairman of the CCBI Bible Commission, during a prayerful celebration held at the CCBI chapel.

The event brought together members of the Bible Commission Council, CCBI staff, and well-wishers to express gratitude and support for both the outgoing and incoming leaders.

In his benedictory address, Bishop Abir commended the contributions of Fr. Karunanidhi and encouraged Fr. Mathias to continue building on the firm foundation laid by his predecessor.

Fr. Stephen Alathara, Deputy Secretary General of the CCBI, expressed deep appreciation for the service of both outgoing leaders and reflected on their lasting impact on biblical and ecumenical ministry.

Words of gratitude were shared by Fr. Yesu Karunanidhi and Fr. Baptist Pais, who thanked the CCBI leadership and staff for their encouragement and collaboration.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Vignan Das, Associate Director for Communio (Administration & Projects), followed by a blessing and fellowship lunch.

This transition marks a renewed commitment to the mission of the Church in India, especially in the areas of Bible apostolate and missionary formation.
