Feast of St. Francis of Assisi

Societies construct monuments for men and women who shaped their nation. Filipinos, for one, build images of José Rizal, Andrés Bonifacio, Melchora Aquino, and other heroes to honor lives marked by courage and sacrifice.

In a moving demonstration of unity and shared purpose, religious leaders, scholars, and believers from various faiths gathered at St. Andrew’s College Auditorium, Bandra, in the western Indian city of Mumbai, on October 4 for an interfaith event titled “Pilgrims of Hope: Religious Journeying Together for Peace.”

At the Mariapolis Center in Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV addressed the Raising Hope Conference, commemorating the tenth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.
