"We shared our anxieties regarding our mission work in north India, which religious fundamentalists are hindering," said Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar church.

"It demonstrated his support for the minority," said Father Francis, adding, "This is the message we receive from the prime minister: that he cares deeply about us and the minorities."
