During the 99th Executive Committee Meeting of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), held recently in Bengaluru, southern India, the Canon Law Commission released Canon Law for Consecrated Life, a guidebook on the life and governance of religious and secular institutes and societies of apostolic life.

The Commission for Canon Law of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) marked the successful completion of its one-year international programme, “Diploma in Canon Law for the Laity for a Synodal Church,” with a convocation ceremony held on February 8, 2026.

The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) released a new doctrinal document on November 4, titled Mater Populi Fidelis (“The Mother of the Faithful People”), clarifying the proper understanding of certain Marian titles in relation to the mystery of salvation.

Two new books, Christian Living and Reforming the Law, Renewing the Church, were released during the golden jubilee celebrations of St. Peter’s Pontifical Institute, Bengaluru. His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao unveiled the volumes and presented the first copies to 14 Archbishops and Bishops attending the event.
