Caritas Chattogram Region commemorated the Season of Creation with a meaningful and prayerful gathering at its regional conference hall, underscoring the urgent need to protect the environment and foster peace with nature on September 14.

Caritas Chattogram Region is the regional office of Caritas Bangladesh that operates in the Chattogram (formerly Chittagong) area of southeastern Bangladesh.

This year’s theme, “Peace with Creation,” served as the guiding focus for the program, which aimed to inspire ecological awareness, unity, and collective responsibility for safeguarding the planet.

The event was presided over by Mr. Marcel Ratan Guda, Regional Director of Caritas Chattogram Region. In an inspiring gesture of interfaith harmony, four staff members representing different religions opened the program by reading passages from the Holy Quran, the Holy Gita, the Holy Tripitaka, and the Holy Bible. Each sacred text echoed the universal call to care for creation and nurture peace within the natural world.

Following the readings, participants engaged in an open discussion on practical ways to live in harmony with the environment. Staff members shared personal experiences, actionable insights, and ideas for promoting ecological balance within their communities.

A special prayer and message of hope further emphasized the shared moral duty to protect the Earth for future generations.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Guda offered a heartfelt reminder, “Nature follows the rules entrusted to it by the Almighty. No matter how much we try to control it, nature will restore its balance. Even if you cannot actively care for it, at the very least, do not harm it.”

The gathering concluded with a renewed sense of commitment among participants to strengthen their bond with creation and to work together for a more peaceful, sustainable world.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
