The Northern Vicariate of the Rajshahi Diocese in Bangladesh came together in joyful celebration as priests and nuns gathered for an Easter reunion at Christ the King of Peace Church in Chandpukur on May 9.

The program was organized by

The Diocesan Commission for Priests and Religious organized the event. It offered a space for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and reflection.

This year’s theme, “Journeying with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus,” set the tone for a day of prayerful engagement and sharing. As many as 27 preists and nuns from various parishes and religious institutions within the Northern Vicariate participated in it.

The program opened with sacramental adoration, inviting participants into a time of silent reflection and spiritual connection.

In his welcome address, Father Michael Corraya, the convener of the organizing commission, emphasized the commission’s commitment to the well-being of clergy and religious in the diocese.

“We are always devoted to supporting and caring for our fathers, sisters, and brothers,” he said, extending heartfelt congratulations to all.

Exploring more of the theme, Father Bablu Corraya, parish priest of the Christ the King of Peace Church, shared insights on the story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, highlighting how their encounter with the risen Christ brought transformation and renewed mission.

“Their hearts burned with joy,” he said, “and they couldn’t keep that joy to themselves—they had to share it.”

An open forum allowed attendees to exchange personal experiences from their pastoral missions, fostering a spirit of unity and encouragement.

The event concluded with a shared meal and moments of informal interaction, reinforcing bonds among those who serve tirelessly across the vicariate.

RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
