Develop Organizational Digital businesses, Indonesian Catholic Youth send Cadres Abroad to Study

Delegation of Indonesian Catholic Youth to China

The Indonesian Catholic Youth, known as Pemuda Katolik, sent a delegation to China to study, strengthen the organization's ecosystem within the context of its digital business operations, and improve the concentration of cadres.

"Two cadres, on behalf of Luciana Dita Chandra as Head of the Department and Cadre Distribution for the Catholic Youth Center and Bonaventure Primus Agia Alumni of Huaqiao University, Quanzhou, China, and members of the Catholic Youth, Commissariat of Semarang, participated in the ASEAN-China Young Activities Leaders Scholarship (ACYLS) and Center for International Studies on Development and Governance at Zhejiang University," said Stefanus Asat Gusma, the general chairman of the Indonesian Catholic Youth.

These two cadres will learn about "opportunities for China-ASEAN digital economic cooperation regarding digital connectivity" and "training for digital economy talents and establishing cooperative partnerships in the digital economy sector."

According to the program of the Indonesian Catholic Youth, Gusma continued, ACYLS activities in China are intended to expedite cadre resource-based organizations or cadre clustering.

"There is an ultimate goal, especially strengthening the potential and resources of cadres in digital-based business work units. The Indonesian Catholic Youth is very serious about developing the organization's digital business by training cadres and building national and international cooperation so that the cadres are ready to enter the digital era," said Gusma.

Meanwhile, Johannes SM Sitohang, the General Secretary of Indonesian Catholic Youth, conveyed a similar message.

He said the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship program involving two Pemuda Katolik cadres in China was in line with the motto Reborn and Grow Further, a new organizational calling. Ways of organization that develop, progress, and grow not only nationally but internationally.

"Hopefully the knowledge and experience of meeting and learning with all representatives of ASEAN countries can add to the organization's commitment to continue to grow bigger, real, contextual, and competitive," he said.

He continued, the invitation to take part in this program received considerable interest from our cadres throughout the country, but due to the limited quota for a maximum of two people, Pemuda Katolik decided to go through a closed selection process mechanism. This program was also carried out thanks to the initiation and hard work of Regina Vianney Ayudya, Deputy Secretary General for Digital and Creative Economy for Indonesian Catholic Youth.

The Indonesian Catholic Youth is currently encouraging the cadres with various already-operating business divisions. There is Petra Natural, which consists of various cosmetic and care products made without preservatives, chemicals, or animal testing, and with natural ingredients. The Petra Garbage Bank displays refuse selection by category, emphasizing waste reduction, waste utilization, and waste recycling. Ada Petra Natural is a program that empowers all cadres economically.

There is the Connected Village Application as a connected village service system, the Petra Digital Program with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and Pertashop, which is a Pertamina sales outlet that serves the requirements of non-subsidized fuel consumers on a certain scale. - Cosmas Eko Suharyanto
