SIGNIS Philippines Launches Cybermission 3.0 to Equip Pastoral Workers in AI Integration
SIGNIS Philippines will hold Cybermission 3.0 on March 28, 2026, at the Pedro Calungsod Youth Center in Intramuros, Manila. The one-day seminar-workshop aims to equip catechists, youth leaders, and social communicators with practical skills to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into pastoral ministry while maintaining ethical and human-centered practices.
The program, themed “Preserving Human Voices and Faces: The Project Manager's Approach to AI,” is organized in partnership with the Archdiocese of Manila Office of Communication (AOC). It underscores that AI should complement, not replace, human ministry, ensuring that the Church’s voice and presence remain authentic.
Organizers said the workshop seeks to shift participants from being passive consumers of AI to becoming active “project managers” who can apply technology ethically and purposefully in their pastoral contexts. Sessions will explore themes such as human-centric AI, the “attention economy,” and practical strategies for identifying pastoral gaps in parishes.
The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes input sessions and hands-on activities.
Topics include the comparison between the Industrial and Digital Revolutions and their implications for ministry, ethical frameworks centered on human dignity, equality, solidarity, and compassion, and a Cybermission Lab where participants will produce AI-assisted pastoral outputs. The day will conclude with plenary presentations and collegial feedback.
Participants are required to bring a smartphone or a laptop for the workshop exercises. Organizers also offer the option of extending the sessions over two days for more in-depth engagement.
SIGNIS Philippines has invited interested participants from across Metro Manila to register online, using the following link: https://forms.gle/7gQvWaov77PDvxNu8
