Six Catholic School Heads Honored with 'Education Idol Award' in Pakistan

Six Catholic educators were conferred with the Education Idol Award 2026 by the Federation of Private Schools Pakistan in Karachi on May 16, 2026.

The Federation of Private Schools Pakistan (FPSP) on May 16, 2026, conferred the prestigious Education Idol Award 2026 upon 35 distinguished educators from schools across Karachi, including six prominent representatives of Catholic educational institutions.

The Catholic awardees were Denzil D’Souza, Executive Secretary of the Catholic Board of Education Karachi, Sr. Catherine Gill FMM, Principal of St. Lawrence’s Convent school, Sr. Anila FC, Principal of St. Joseph’s Convent School, Fr. Mario Rodrigues, Principal of St. Patrick’s High School, Lenny Dias, Principal of St. Paul’s English High School, and Vincent Thomas, Principal of St. Jude’s High School.

In his address during the awarding ceremony, Chairman of the Federation of Private Schools Pakistan, Aleem Qureshi, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and underscored the critical need for continuous advancement in the standard of education across Pakistan.

He paid tribute to the Christian community, noting that their missionary schools have historically been the foundational pillars of high-quality education in the country. He further emphasized that the enduring dedication and selfless service of Christian educators continue to play a monumental role in uplifting the nation's literacy standards.

Sharing her joy on the occasion, Sr. Catherine Gill FMM, Principal of St. Lawrence’s Convent School, expressed her profound gratitude for the recognition, calling it a milestone not just for herself, but for the entire school community. She remarked that the award is a testament to the collective dedication, resilience, and hard work of the faculty, staff, and students who strive for excellence every day.

Reflecting on the milestone, Vincent Thomas, Principal of St. Jude’s High School, expressed his deep gratitude to the organizers and dedicated the recognition to his hardworking teaching faculty.

He stated that the true reward for any educator is seeing students overcome challenges to achieve their full potential, adding that this recognition strengthens their resolve to ensure quality education remains accessible, innovative, and deeply transformative for every child under their care.

Expressing her appreciation, Sr. Anila FC, Principal of St. Joseph’s Convent School, emphasized that the accolade reflects a shared commitment to character-building and holistic development.

She noted that academic achievements are most meaningful when paired with strong ethical values, stating that the award serves as a powerful encouragement to continue fostering an environment where young women are empowered to lead, serve, and positively impact society.

This collective recognition highlights the historic and enduring impact of the Catholic education system in Pakistan. For generations, these institutions have served as pillars of academic excellence, discipline, and inclusive learning, offering quality education to students from all walks of life.
