God is head over heels in love with us.

June 24, Friday, 12th Week in Ordinary Time
Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
Ezekiel 34:11-16, Romans 5:5-1, Gospel: Luke 15:3-7

A sacred heart is a heart pierced on the cross by love, from where blood and water flowed, the sacraments of the Church, channels of God's grace.

The people had been dispersed to various places after the destruction of Jerusalem. The prophet Ezekiel compares this destruction of the people to a storm that scatters a flock.

And what the shepherd does with the scattered community is seek the sheep, deliver them from danger, bandage the wounded, heal the sick, and care for the strong, which we can connect to how God does with his scattered, neglected, damaged, and heartbroken people.

Through the prophet Ezekiel, God announces that he will shepherd his people as an authentic and faithful shepherd since the evil shepherds of Israel, their political-religious authorities, instead of taking care of the people so that they are not destroyed and dispersed, have chosen to take care of themselves and take advantage of them.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; we celebrate God's merciful love, manifested in Jesus and symbolized in his heart. A heart that loves humanity dearly.

Jesus embodies God's loving and merciful heart. On today's feast, we can say that man puts himself in the heart of the best or worst person, but Christ shows us his own, with the scars of our sin, as a sign of his love for each of us. Our past, present, and future history are re-lived and renewed from this heart so we can think about and understand the joy of the one who finds what he has lost.

Do I congratulate or thank others and myself every time I find someone that has been lost in the love of Jesus? How can I show others the great love and mercy the Lord has shown me?

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
