The outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to Indonesia, Archbishop Piero Pioppo, delivered a heartfelt message to Indonesian Catholics, saying that his eight years of pastoral and diplomatic service in the country have strengthened his spirit as he prepares to begin his new mission as the Holy See’s envoy to Spain and Andorra later this week.

In a message during the concluding Eucharistic Celebration at the 11th Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (PCNE) held at the University of Santo Tomas on July 20, Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula called on the delegates to carry on with the mission.

Pope Francis' envoy to the Philippines reassured the faithful that celibacy would remain a core discipline for the Church’s clergy.

Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown invited the faithful to remember Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to the place in Bethlehem where God would give Jesus to the world.

"I send my congratulations and cordial wishes to Your Excellency as you begin your mandate as the President of the Republic."

The president-elect assured me of his desire to collaborate, cooperate closely with the church and Holy See.
