The Diocese of Rajshahi in Bangladesh successfully conducted its annual Post-Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Human Christian Formation Training program across three vicariates under the initiative of the Youth Commission of the Diocese from May 28 to June 4.

The Diocesan Youth Commission spearheaded the week-long program, which took place in three key locations: Bhutahara Parish (Northern Vicariate), Gulta Parish (Southern Vicariate), and the Christo Jyoti Pastoral Center (Mid Vicariate).

This year’s theme, “Youth are Pilgrims of Hope, the Living Witnesses of the Jubilee of Christ’s Birth,” invited young Catholics to reflect deeply on their faith while preparing for their future, both spiritually and socially.

As many as 381 students from various parishes of these three vicariates participated in the program.

Throughout the course, participants engaged in a wide range of sessions covering essential aspects of Catholic life and personal development.

Topics included the history of the Catholic Church, spiritual and mental well-being, active participation in the liturgy, youth ethics and moral challenges, safeguarding policies, biblical studies, the impact of AI and modern technology, career and life planning, and an introduction to canon law.

Beyond the classroom, the program featured interactive and creative sessions to foster leadership and communication skills. These included debate contests, impromptu speech challenges, and Bible-themed drama competitions, giving students a platform to express their faith through art and dialogue.

Many attendees shared heartfelt testimonials about their experiences:

“I’ve learned so much that will guide me as I move forward in life,” said Limon Roy from the Southern Vicariate. “This training has truly been a blessing. I thank the Youth Commission for this opportunity.”

Subho Toppo from the Northern Vicariate added, “This was my first time attending such a program, and I gained not only knowledge but also meaningful friendships that I believe will help shape my future.”

Rima Biswas of the Mid Vicariate reflected, “The insights I gained about the Holy Bible have strengthened my faith. I now feel more prepared to be a true witness of Christ in my community.”

On the final day, the participants received certificates of completion, marking the end of a transformative experience that aimed to equip the next generation of Catholic youth with knowledge, conviction, and purpose.

The Rajshahi Diocese continues to invest in the faith formation and holistic development of young people, empowering them to become active contributors to both church and society.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
