Caritas Bangladesh marks the International Day of Families
As part of the observance of Jubilee Year 2025, Caritas Bangladesh, the social development wing of the church in the country, celebrated the International Day of Families on May 15.
The occasion was marked with a spiritually enriching morning prayer at its central office, bringing together staff members to reflect on the importance of family in both personal and community life.
The program began with a solemn invocation, followed by a heartfelt presentation of four prayer intentions by Dipok Ekka, an official of Caritas Bangladesh.
A short video on the significance of the International Day of Families deepened participants' understanding, while the event embraced the Jubilee theme, “Pilgrims of Hope.”
Prayers were offered for love and dignity within families around the world, and special intentions were made for the spiritual journey of jubilee pilgrims.
Participants paid tribute to the late Pope Francis, honoring his legacy as a global spiritual leader, and sought divine blessings for the newly elected Pope Leo XIV and his mission of shepherding the Church.
Three staff members shared brief reflections, emphasizing the role of faith, family resilience, and the lasting impact of service in building strong, compassionate communities.
Executive Director Sebastian Rozario encouraged staff to nurture strong family bonds, stating, “Families that pray together, eat together, and communicate regularly build lasting connections.”
He urged everyone to care for and support each member of their family.
Director of Programs Daud Jibon Das concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their presence and engagement.
He reaffirmed Caritas Bangladesh’s commitment to integrating spiritual values into its humanitarian mission.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
