Members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Pakistan visited the Basilica of Saint Mary Major on May 14 as part of their Ad Limina visit to Rome.

The bishops celebrated Mass at the basilica under the leadership of Archbishop Joseph Arshad.

In his homily, Archbishop Arshad reflected on the Christian call to discipleship, emphasizing that followers of Jesus Christ are called to live in obedience to God and that true joy is found through faithful obedience.

Pakistani priests and seminarians studying in Rome joined the Eucharistic celebration.

After the Mass, the bishops visited the tomb of Pope Francis, located within the basilica.

Later, the bishops gathered at Saint Peter College, where they met priests and seminarians from their respective dioceses. During the meeting, the bishops discussed the ongoing education, spiritual development, and formation of the clergy and seminarians studying in Rome
