RVA Vietnamese YouTube Channel Awarded for Crossing 100K Subscribers

In a significant moment for Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), Asia’s leading Catholic digital platform, its Vietnamese Service has been honored with the YouTube Silver Play Button Award for surpassing 100,000 subscribers.

The Vietnamese Service staff celebrated this milestone achievement with a thanksgiving Mass on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The Mass was presided over by Father John Baptist Trần Thanh Thế, O.P., Coordinator of the Vietnamese Service, and was attended by Dominican superiors, fellow priests, staff, collaborators, and volunteers.

In his opening remarks, Fr. Trần Thanh Thế expressed heartfelt gratitude for the achievement and acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of collaborators over the years. He emphasized the importance of continued support and prayers for the Vietnamese Service’s mission of spreading the Gospel through modern digital platforms.

In his homily, Fr. Joseph Phạm Quốc Văn, a long-time collaborator, encouraged the RVA team, especially media workers, to be Good Samaritans in their daily lives, using digital tools to share compassion and the Good News.

Fr. Victor Sadaya, General Manager of Radio Veritas Asia, offered his congratulations, stating: “On behalf of Radio Veritas Asia, I congratulate the Vietnamese Language Service on this milestone achievement in making a meaningful impact by sharing the Good News with the global community. God bless your team and all those who have contributed to your missionary endeavor.”

Fr. John Mi Shen, RVA Program Director and Executive Secretary of the FABC Office of Social Communication (OSC), also sent a message of appreciation to the team: “I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the RVA Vietnamese Service for achieving the YouTube Silver Play Button Award. This milestone is not only a testimony to the team’s creativity, consistency, and dedication but also a clear sign of how the Gospel can be shared meaningfully in today’s digital culture. Your dedication to producing content that informs, inspires, and evangelizes has borne fruit and touched the lives of many. I commend the Vietnamese team for their hard work and missionary spirit, and I thank our viewers and supporters whose trust and engagement made this achievement possible.”

He expressed his confidence that this recognition of the Vietnamese Service will inspire all RVA language services to continue exploring new digital frontiers with faith, professionalism, and joy.

“Congratulations once again, this is a victory for the entire RVA family,” he added.

Arlene Arungayan Donarber, Assistant Program Director of RVA, highlighted the significance of this milestone for the Vietnamese Service: “This well-deserved honour reflects the RVA Vietnamese team’s unwavering commitment to producing engaging and faith-filled content in video format that resonates deeply with audiences around the world. This prestigious milestone is more than a celebration of figures; it is a celebration of the meaningful mission and creative spirit of all the members of the language service. The voice of the RVA Vietnamese Service has truly gone global, reaching over 100,000 hearts, and counting.”

She added, “We celebrate with you, Fr. John Thế, and the entire Vietnamese Service team! Your dedication continues to inspire the RVA family. May this milestone open more doors to reach hearts, uplift communities, and glorify God through your work. The YouTube Silver Play Button is not the finish line; it is a powerful reminder that your message to people across Asia and beyond truly matters.”

The RVA Vietnamese YouTube channel, launched in November 2015, reached 100,000 subscribers on May 7, 2025. As of July 2025, the channel has grown to 204,000 subscribers and has garnered over 52 million views, a testament to the spiritual hunger and active engagement of Vietnamese-speaking audiences worldwide.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
