SIGNIS Asia assembly 2025 to be held in Phillippines

SIGNIS Asia Assembly 2025 brings together faith, culture, and innovation in Manila and Tagaytay from October 21 to 25.

The SIGNIS Asia assembly 2025 will be held in the Philippines in October.

The assembly promises more than just insightful dialogue; it offers an immersive experience that fuses faith, culture, and innovation.

Scheduled from October 21 to 25, this year's assembly is set across two iconic Philippine locations: the dynamic capital of Manila and the tranquil city of Tagaytay.

Themed around meaningful engagement and renewal, the assembly’s structure revolves around three core conversations: with the Church, with the laity, and culminating in a shared commitment. These sessions aim to deepen understanding, invite reflection, and call participants to action.

Program highlights include:

  • Interactive workshops—Bridging theory and practice, these sessions promote creative thinking and real-world applications for Catholic communicators across Asia.

  • Panel discussions—Featuring clergy, lay leaders, and professionals tackling vital themes such as social justice, interfaith dialogue, and digital evangelization.

  • Networking opportunities—Fostering collaboration and future partnerships among Church communicators.

  • Commitment Ceremony—A symbolic act inviting participants to renew their mission in faith, communication, and community service.

Participants can look forward to profound engagements with Church leaders and media practitioners through specialized presentations such as:

  • Divine whispers: The Church’s role in a digital age—A panel discussion featuring media experts across Asia.

  • Whispers for Hope: The event will also feature a showcase of youth-led initiatives in Catholic communication, titled Youth Whispers for Hope.

  • Media for a hopeful future: Gentle storytelling & AI with a heart and soul—A timely hands-on session on ethical and spiritual dimensions of AI use in communication.

Cultural and spiritual immersions:

The assembly also includes guided tours to some of the Philippines’ most revered religious and historical landmarks:

  • Manila tour—Explore the walled city of Intramuros, pray at the Manila Cathedral, visit the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, and experience devotion at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, commonly known as Quiapo Church.

  • Batangas-Laguna Tour—Reflect in the serene surroundings of the Divine Word Farm and the Shrine of Padre Pio, and conclude with a closing Mass and farewell dinner at the Cathedral of Saint Paul the First Hermit.

SIGNIS Asia Assembly 2025 offers a rare chance to explore the heart of Filipino faith and culture while addressing the evolving challenges of Catholic communication in today’s world. It is more than a gathering—a journey of encounter, hope, and mission.

The Asia-Pacific chapter of SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communication, is known as SIGNIS Asia.

It supports Catholic values and acts as a network for Catholic communicators in South, Southeast, and East Asia, encouraging positive social impact through media. Additionally, SIGNIS Asia seeks to empower communicators across a range of media, including journalism, media education, radio, television, film, and digital media.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
