God has a plan and everything takes place accordingly!
November 25, 2025 Tuesday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Daniel 2:31-45; Luke 21:5-11
King Nebuchadnezzar has a troubling dream. Daniel is pressed into service to interpret it. The dream is all about a statue with golden head (Babylonian Empire), chest and arms of silver (the Medo-Persian Empire), Belly and thighs of bronze (the Greek Empire), legs of iron (the Roman Empire) and finally feet of iron and clay (fragmented and divided nature which means a mix of strength and weakness). Those of us who are aware of the Salvation History would know that these empires colonized Israel. It is in this backdrop Daniel foretells the dawn of a new kingdom under a new king. He says that God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed. The stone represents the kingdom of God. It will finish off all the other kingdoms led by human hands. God’s kingdom will be all inclusive as it would envelope all the kingdoms and it will remain forever.
Jesus is in front of the temple of Jerusalem. Some people were admiring the glory of the temple. Jesus listens to it and foretells its destruction. Then the question comes, “when?” Jesus is of the opinion that the end of everything is at hand but no one knows when it is. Believers should never be misled by false prophets. They must remain vigilant avoiding all kinds of deceptions. The prophecy of Jesus was fulfilled in 70 AD, almost 40 years after his death, burial, resurrection, ascension and the Pentecost. St. Luke the evangelist knew it when he sat down to write this Gospel or even better the believing community was very well aware of it. Jesus also warns them about false prophets, deceivers, wars, uprisings, earthquakes, famines, pestilences, dreadful portents and great signs from heaven. What is required of the believers is faithful preparedness. An enduring hope is the answer to everything.
Call to Action: The heroic acts of four Jewish young men were possible only because of their faith expressed in their prayer and endurance!
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
