Congregation of Holy Cross

On April 26, the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross said Bangladesh continues to see interest in religious life, but demographic changes may affect future vocations.

On January 6, the Church remembers André Bessette, the first member of the Congregation of Holy Cross to be canonized a saint.

“It’s not I who has been faithful, but the people; they have been so faithful and supportive,” Fr. Leo van Beurden OSC.

Archbishop D'Cruze said, "Today is a day of great joy for the Catholic Church in Bangladesh and for the brothers of the Holy Cross. Because eight brothers are receiving final vows for their lives today by responding to God's call to preach the Good News and they are devoting their lives to Christian service."

Brother Paul Bednarczyk, CSC, was elected as the first brother to be a Superior General in the Holy Cross Congregation. 

The only Filipino Holy Cross priest in Bangladesh on April 3, 2022, passes away.
