A candlelight ceremony and a youth concert are among the significant events scheduled for Pope Francis’ apostolic visit to Papua New Guinea in September.
The papal “visit to Indonesia, Singapore, Timor Leste, and Papua New Guinea has now been moved to early September,” reported America, a monthly Catholic magazine published by the Jesuits of the United States.
Bishop Joseph Durero formally assumed his post as the third shepherd of the Diocese of Daru-Kiunga, replacing Bishop Gilles Côté of the Missionaries of the Company of Mary, who retired after serving the diocese for 22 years.
