RVA and Laudato Si’ Movement Seal Partnership in Historic Online Signing Ceremony

In a significant step toward deeper collaboration in ecological mission and media advocacy, Radio Veritas Asia (RVA) and the Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) officially signed a Partnership Framework Agreement during the Laudato Si’ webinar hosted by RVA on July 31, 2025.
Fr. John Mi Shen, Program Director of Radio Veritas Asia, emphasized the importance of the agreement during the online signing ceremony: “The signing of this Memorandum of Agreement between Radio Veritas Asia and the Laudato Si’ Movement marks a significant step in our shared mission to promote ecological awareness and integral human development."
He described the partnership as one that “brings together faith-based communication and grassroots advocacy, allowing us to amplify the message of Laudato Si’ across Asia through multimedia platforms, storytelling, and community engagement.”
Fr. John added, “We are confident that this collaboration will inspire greater ecological responsibility and foster a culture of care for our common home, especially among the youth and faith communities. We look forward to working closely with the Laudato Si’ Movement in turning Pope Francis’ call for ecological conversion into concrete action.”
Fr. Victor Sadaya, CMF, General Manager of Radio Veritas Asia, called the partnership a landmark expression of unity and shared mission.
“Radio Veritas Asia and the Laudato Si’ Movement have officially sealed their partnership during a historic online Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony, an important move poised to redefine community engagement and faith-driven advocacy across the region.”
This partnership forges a dynamic connection between RVA and the Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM), paving the way for impactful collaboration in key areas:
- Faith-Informed Social Change – RVA’s expansive platform will amplify Laudato Si’s mission to champion Indigenous rights and ecological restoration.
- Community Storytelling – The collaboration will spotlight authentic narratives from underserved communities—restoring voice, pride, and visibility.
- Education & Empowerment – Through joint workshops, forums, and campaigns, the alliance aims to promote inclusive dialogue and sustainable development.
“We see this as a meaningful synergy grounded in compassion, dialogue, and shared mission. This MOA is not only a ceremonial milestone but the beginning of a shared journey for change,” Fr. Sadaya remarked.
Arlene A. Donarber, Assistant Program Director of Radio Veritas Asia, congratulated both partners, saying, “I am confident that this partnership will amplify inspiring stories, promote ecological education, and bring the message of Laudato Si’ to a wider audience.”
Cheryl Dugan, Director for Asia Pacific and Member Leadership of LSM, also expressed optimism about the partnership’s outcome: “By sharing stories and ecological advocacy from across the region, we hope to inspire and mobilize Catholic communities to live out their faith through meaningful ecological action.”
Adrian Tambuyat, OP, Asia Pacific Programs Coordinator of LSM, echoed similar sentiments: “This collaboration goes beyond simply responding to the ecological crisis around us. It’s what I like to call ‘ECO-mmunication’, a shared commitment to awaken Christians in Asia to their responsibility to care for our common home, with or without an ongoing crisis like climate change, using storytelling and the power of communication.”
The Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) is a global network of Catholic individuals and organizations inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home. It works to stir ecological conversion and mobilize communities in addressing the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor.
With this partnership, Radio Veritas Asia and the Laudato Si’ Movement take a united step toward realizing the vision Pope Francis laid out in his encyclical, one of an integrated ecology rooted in justice, sustainability, and faith.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
