The Love of God

Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas
    Voiced by: Rose De Jesus

April 10, Wednesday of the Second Week of Easter
Daily Readings: Acts 5:17-26: John 3:16-21

In the first reading, the high priests put the Apostles in prison. But at night, the Lord sent his angel to open the door and instruct them to continue their preaching in the temple. When the high priests asked them to be brought to the members of the council the next day, they discovered that they were gone and somebody told them that they were standing in the temple and continuing their teachings.

The gospel of John speaks of the love of God for all human beings. “ For God so loved the world as to give his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting.”

The love of God is immeasurable and infinite. In one of the recollections, the recollection master, Father John Klen Malificiar, shared that the true symbol of love is not a heart but a cross.

God, who loves his people, sent his only Son to save them. For the salvation of the world, Jesus, the son of God, endured suffering, underwent crucifixion, and died on the cross.

The experience of Jesus dying on the cross gives a new meaning to the cross. The cross is now a symbol of hope and the true love of God for his people.  As a recipient of this love, how did I respond to God’s invitation to love?

Jesus, help us to be reminded that your death on the cross is the true symbol of God’s love for us. Amen.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
