We should not forget time for God

October 4, Tuesday of the 27th Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Galatians 1:13-24 Gospel: Luke 10:38-42

One faithful family was rich. The father supports and donates what is needed to the Church. But he never goes to Church; he is busy with his business and home. He might think it is enough to donate the things needed to the Church. It is good to support the Church but he forgot the better part.  That is to go to Church and communicate with God.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is sitting in the parlour of Lazarus’ house. Mary is sitting beside Jesus and listening to Jesus. Martha is busy with the preparation of food for Jesus and his disciples. Here, the parlour is similar to the Church. Jesus is waiting for us. The church is the holy place to talk with God, and to pray to God. The kitchen is similar to our houses where we are busy with our work. Thus, Jesus Christ taught us through the Gospel that it is better to be with Him than to be busy with our work in our houses all the time.

We need to be balanced in our lives. Although we need to be busy with worldly things, we must have time for God because to be with God is to be in heaven. We should not forget to give time to God.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
